Current Trends In Web Design

15 Sep 2006

fu2.jpgOntoinfo has listed a collection of web design “element” trends. I add “element”, because the article is really about tabs and treatments, not overall design. They are more like accessories to complement the design, than style. Still, its a nice collection of popular trends.

Best Paper Airplane

13 Sep 2006

Paper AirplaneAs a kid I loved folding and flying paper airplanes. Everyone should learn how to make the basics. Most people are familiar with the two basics types. The jet, long and skinny folded lengthwise, the first one I learned. The other is the wing glider, short and stubby, the one that has the folded over point.

Of course there are variations on them, but those are the basics. Now take some time and learn a really hard one, a really unique one. One that you can call your own and teach to the next generation. Here is my favorite, it meets all the criteria of a good paper airplane.

  • Looks great
  • Uses one sheet of paper
  • Flies great

Best paper airplane in the world!

  • iTunes Store Name Change?

    11 Sep 2006

Did you notice the iTunes Music Store changed its name? Everyone is assuming movies, but what about other media? Like games? Xbox live is doing it and wasn’t there a rumor about Apple hiring a game developer? I think they will announce downloadable games tomorrow. The iPod and iTunes have been great trojan horses for Apple to sneak in their brand into Microsoft households.

    Quake Rocket Jump Video

    08 Sep 2006

Two video posts on two days! I was searching for a demo of quake 4 to download, and found this video. I have tried rocket jumping in Unreal on a training map, I am not even close to this level of skill. What is even more impressive, is the editing and music.

    Tricking iT 2

I use a plug-in module to display YouTube videos, like the one above, but here is a link to the full length movie here.

    Pitagora Suicchi

    07 Sep 2006

MAKE magazine posted a video of a Pitagora Suicchi machine made by some kids. Looks like that had a problem at the end and “improvised”. Here is the first one that I saw, didn’t know what it was at first. I found it while I was watching the top videos through a XBMC plug-in on my xbox.

    The incredible machine

    Kill Bill Ringtone

    06 Sep 2006

This first thing I did when I got my bluetooth phone was to start uploading ringtones and images.

    Kill Bill Cellphone Wallpaper

Here is the Kill Bill wallpaper for my Motorola V551 that I use with my ringtones that I made from the soundtrack. I used Audacity to convert the CD track to an mp3 for the phone. Here are the two audio files that I use.

    Is this considered fair-use?
